the Côte.d'ivoire
The Côte.d'ivoire is a country of West Africa, giving on the gulf of
Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The relief of the Côte.d'ivoire, of low
altitude in the whole of the
country, rises in the western part: the area of Odienné, in the North-West, is
made of hills, while in the center the mounts of Toura rise. Four large rivers
cross the Côte.d'ivoire: Sassandra, Cavally, Bandama and Comoé. The
forest of the Ivory Coast counts
more than 225 gasolines of trees; but, because of the
overexploitation of the forests and
agricultural grubbing, its surface was considerably reduced.
Population of the Côte.d'ivoire, very
diversified, account of many ethnos groups. Approximately 20 % of the
population practise Christianity and 20 % Islam; parallel to these religions,
the traditional beliefs remain significant.
The economy of the Côte.d'ivoire rests on agriculture: the country is the first
world cocoa producer and the tenth for the
coffee. These two products, with wood, constitute principal exports.
However, the economy is subjected each year to the variation of the prices on
the world market of the coffee and the cocoa.
The wearing of Abidjan east one of most active of West Africa.
